Christmas Tree Shipping rates vary depending on the size of the Christmas tree you select and where your order is being delivered. Because fresh Christmas trees are large, perishable items, shipping costs can vary more than standard package shipping. The most accurate way to view your shipping price is to add the item you would like to purchase to your shopping cart and use the shipping calculator before checkout.

To get a Christmas tree shipping quote, simply add your Christmas tree, wreath, swag, or tree stand to your shopping cart. Then select the “Calculate Shipping” link located below the order total. You can enter your state and ZIP code to see the available shipping rate for your order. This allows you to review your Christmas Tree Shipping cost before completing your purchase.

Christmas tree shipping rates are based on several factors, including package size, package weight, delivery location, and carrier fees. Larger trees require larger boxes and may cost more to ship than smaller trees, tabletop trees, wreaths, or swags. Any Christmas trees that measure over 6 1/2 feet tall will also include additional oversized shipping fees. These oversized package fees are charged by FedEx or UPS and will be included in your shipping total when applicable.

Christmas Tree Shipping Time

When you order a Christmas tree or Christmas wreath online from A Tree To Your Door, you will be able to select the week you would like your order shipped. This allows you to place your order early while still choosing the shipping week that works best for your holiday decorating plans.

Each week, we review our upcoming orders, harvest fresh Christmas trees, prepare wreaths and swags, and package each order for shipment. Christmas trees are typically shipped on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so they can spend as little time in transit as possible before arriving at your home.

In general, orders shipping to the West Coast may leave our farm earlier in the week, while orders being delivered closer to Michigan may ship on Tuesday or Wednesday. Because of the number of orders we prepare, and the time required to box each tree individually, we cannot guarantee the exact day your tree will ship. However, we do our best to schedule shipments in a way that helps your fresh Christmas tree arrive in good condition.

Once your order ships, you will receive tracking information so you can follow your tree, wreath, or swag as it travels from our family farm to your doorstep. Please keep in mind that tracking numbers may not show activity immediately. Until your package is scanned by FedEx or UPS at one of their facilities, the tracking status may not update even though your order has already left our farm.

Transit times are usually accurate, but FedEx and UPS do not guarantee ground shipping transit times during the holiday season. Weather, carrier delays, peak season package volume, and other factors may affect delivery timing. We recommend choosing a shipping week that gives your tree enough time to arrive before you plan to decorate.

Shipping Fresh Christmas Trees with Care

When your tree arrives, remove it from the box as soon as possible. Make a fresh cut on the bottom of the trunk, place the tree in a stand, and add water right away. Keeping the tree stand filled with water will help your fresh Christmas tree stay beautiful throughout the holiday season.

Wreaths and swags will arrive ready to display and enjoy. Simply remove them from the packaging and hang them on your front door, porch, mantel, mailbox, window, gate, or another favorite holiday decorating location.
